Swings are super cool because every time you are swinging you and everyone around you is a child again, which is a great feeling. They also bring to life all of our childhood memories. So here I bring you a swing with one of the most amazing views you can ever ask for.

The swing is well hidden in the Kramerplateau trail. Therefore, in order to find it, you will have to take a few detours.

But let’s start by the beginning, where to access the trail. There are several places where you can access the trail and below I will show you two of them.

Start 1

1. The first one is a bit longer but nothing severe and the walk is beautiful, thus I’m sure you will not mind it. Park by the Tennis court in Maximilianstraße, then walk through Zoeppritzstraße and you will find the start of the trail (circled in red below).

Follow the trail to the Kriegergedächtniskapelle and then to the junction (circled in red below) to start on the Kramerplateau Trail.

Start 2

This is closest and easiest one. Park at Maximilianhöhe Street. There are two parking lots: one right before the Berggasthof Almhutte, and the second which is before the first one (both circled in yellow below).

Then find the start of the trail, which is only a few steps away. The trail is marked with blue dots. From here is about a 35 min hike.

The rest of the directions apply to both starts.

  • Once on the Kramerplateau trail, start walking west towards the Zugspitze until you find the junction circled in red above.
  • Turn right and follow the big trail until you get to the solar panels.
  • Somewhere by the solar panels, there is a small path on the left side. Take it and you will see the swing on a small hill.

Quick tip: Go during sunset to see the mountains turn orange.
